The Jagannath University Incubation Center (JUIC) at Jagannath University is dedicated to fostering a culture of creativity, entrepreneurship, and technological innovation among students. In an era marked by rapid technological advancements and a shifting job landscape, JUIC serves as a catalyst for nurturing ideas, encouraging problem-solving, and transforming concepts into viable startups.

With a focus on hands-on learning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and real-world impact, the cell empowers students to think critically, innovate fearlessly, and build sustainable solutions for emerging challenges. Through mentor-ship programs, industry interactions, and incubation support, JUIC aims to bridge the gap between academia and the startup ecosystem.

Our mission is to ignite the spirit of innovation and equip students with the vision, strategy, and resilience needed to become tomorrow’s change makers and entrepreneurial leaders.

The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) at Jagannath University is a dedicated body established in 2018 with the goal of promoting a culture of innovation, entrepreneurship, and intellectual property development among students and faculty members. Under the guidance of the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC), Government of India, IIC-JU actively promotes creative thinking, startup initiatives, and industry collaborations.

To create a dynamic ecosystem where students view entrepreneurship as an empowering and purposeful career path, enabling them to drive innovation, generate employment, and contribute meaningfully to societal and economic development, while achieving their personal and professional aspirations.

Mission

To ignite and nurture entrepreneurial potential among students by enhancing their innovative thinking, strategic mindset, and execution capabilities. IIC aims to equip future entrepreneurs with the tools and guidance needed to build sustainable, impact-driven ventures that contribute to inclusive social and economic growth.

Objectives

  • To encourage students and faculty to develop innovative solutions for real-world challenges.
  • To promote entrepreneurship through mentorship, incubation, and funding opportunities.
  • To facilitate patent filing, intellectual property protection, and technology transfer.
  • To organize workshops, hackathons, and industry interactions to enhance innovation skills.
  • To promote innovation in the Institution through multitudinous modes leading to an innovation promotion eco-system in the campus.
  • To conduct various innovation and entrepreneurship-related activities prescribed by Central MIC in time bounded fashion.
  • To identify and reward innovations and share success stories.
  • To organize periodic workshops / seminars / interactions with entrepreneurs, investors, professionals and create a mentor pool for student innovators.
  • To network with peers and national entrepreneurship development organizations.
  • To create an Institution's Innovation portal to highlight innovative projects carried out by institution’s faculty and students.
  • To organize Hackathons, idea competition, mini-challenges, etc. with the involvement of industries.

    Provide students with access to essential startup tools, digital platforms, research databases, business templates, prototyping kits, and market analysis reports to help them plan, develop, and refine their entrepreneurial ideas efficiently.
