Introduction

A one-year postgraduate program called the Master of Laws (LL.M.) is intended for recent law graduates who want to improve their legal knowledge and research abilities.

The LL.M. program at Jagan Nath University, which has been approved in accordance with UGC guidelines, gives students the chance to specialize in the legal fields of their choice while honing their analytical, academic writing, and critical thinking skills.

Through a combination of engaging lectures, seminars, project work, and a required research dissertation, the curriculum prepares students to tackle intricate legal problems and seek professions in academia, policy, the judiciary, or specialized legal practice.

Eligibility and Selection Process

Programme Eligibility
LLB/ BALLB/ BBALLB or equivalent degree with min. 50% marks
Programme Duration
The duration of the LL.M. Degree Course is one year, comprising of two semesters.
Course Duration
One Year (LL.M) As per UGC Guidelines.
Course Structure
2 Semesters including compulsory and elective courses, along with a research project or dissertation.

Specialization & Specific Information

LL.M. 1 Year Degree Program is offered in the following areas of Specialization:

  • Corporate and Commercial Law
  • Criminal and Security Law
  • Intellectual Property Law
  • Cyber Law

The aforementioned Specialization shall be chosen by candidates, in the first semester. The three Compulsory papers/Foundation papers in the first semester are common for all the candidates pursuing LL.M. One Year Degree Programme.

Note: - An area of Specialization will be offered at the discretion of the University only if a sufficient number of students opt for that specialization and the required faculty in that specialization is available.
