Introduction

M.Tech. Mechanical Engineering or Master of Technology in Mechanical Engineering is a postgraduate Mechanical Engineering course. It is a two years program that deals with the study of mechanics, statics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science, and structural analysis used in designing, development, construction, production, installation, operation and maintenance of tools, machines and various other mechanical equipment such as automobiles, trucks, airplanes, trains, space vehicles, lathes, milling machines, grinders, large steam and gas turbines, components of thermal power stations, internal combustion engines, jet engines, air conditioning and heating machines, refrigerators, etc. The two years masters degree program started in 2011 adds to the technical skills and hence increases the chances of getting hired.


Programme Duration

The M. Tech programme will be of minimum 2 Years duration (4 Semester).


Programme Eligibility

B.Tech/B.E./MCA/ M.Sc. (Physics/ Math)/ M.Sc. (Electronics) M.Sc. (CS/IT) with min. 50%

OR

The candidate must have passed B.E. /B. Tech or equivalent degree or a Masters degree in respective or allied discipline with a minimum of 50% aggregate (all semesters/years) marks or CGPA of 5.5 in 10 points scale and possess a valid GATE score or qualified through Admission Test prescribed by the Jagan Nath University.
