Objectives

  • To promote awareness of physiotherapy as an essential component of health, wellness, disease prevention, and rehabilitation among the general public.
  • To provide health education related to physical fitness, posture, ergonomics, lifestyle modification, and prevention of musculoskeletal disorders.
  • To expose physiotherapy students to community-based outreach activities, enhancing their understanding of public health and wellness promotion.
  • To develop communication and interpersonal skills of students through interaction with diverse populations in a real-world health event.
  • To encourage interdisciplinary learning, allowing students to understand the role of physiotherapy alongside yoga, meditation, mental health, and holistic wellness practices.
  • To foster social responsibility and professional ethics among students by participating in national and international health promotion programs.
  • To observe and learn from wellness-oriented activities such as fitness programs, meditation sessions, and health talks, integrating them into physiotherapy practice.

Summary

The Physiotherapy Department participated in the World Health & Wellness Fest (WHWF) held at Hotel Clarks Amer, Jaipur, from 20th–21st December 2025, with the active involvement of 15 physiotherapy students accompanied by one faculty member. This outreach activity aimed at promoting holistic health, wellness, and preventive healthcare among the public.

During the event, students were exposed to a wide spectrum of health, wellness, fitness, and awareness activities as showcased in the program schedule. These included fitness-based events such as Mega Boot Camp, Neon Fitness Party, and BLS (Basic Life Support) training, which emphasized physical fitness, emergency response, and the importance of an active lifestyle—core components closely aligned with physiotherapy practice. Students also observed and learned from meditation and mindfulness sessions like Osho Omkar Meditation and Rock Satsang, highlighting the integration of mental well-being with physical health.

The fest featured multiple health education sessions including ICU Myths vs Facts, Heart Health Session, Reclaim Your Health, and Healthy Minds–Healthy Career, which enhanced students’ understanding of preventive care, lifestyle disorders, and patient education. Exposure to film screenings on health and social themes, wellness talks, and interdisciplinary discussions broadened students’ perspectives on community health issues and holistic rehabilitation.

Participation in this large-scale wellness platform helped students develop communication skills, professional confidence, and social responsibility, while reinforcing the role of physiotherapy in preventive, promotive, and rehabilitative healthcare. Overall, the outreach activity provided meaningful experiential learning, strengthened interdisciplinary understanding, and reinforced the importance of physiotherapy in comprehensive community health and wellness initiatives.

Conclusion

The Physiotherapy Department outreach activity at the World Health & Wellness Fest (WHWF) was a meaningful and enriching experience for both students and faculty. The participation of 15 students under faculty guidance of Dr. Sakshi Yadav provided valuable exposure to community-based health promotion, preventive care, and holistic wellness practices. The activity successfully enhanced students’ practical knowledge, professional skills, and awareness of interdisciplinary healthcare approaches. Overall, the outreach program reinforced the vital role of physiotherapy in promoting health, wellness, and quality of life, while fostering social responsibility and experiential learning among future physiotherapy professionals.
