Visit to Krishi Upaj Mandi Samiti, Chaksu
On 29th April 2024, 67 students (B.Sc. Agriculture, IV semester) visited in Krishi Upaj Mandi Samiti, Chaksu with 4 faculties (Dr. Harkesh Kumar Balai, Dr. Sundhi Tiwari, Dr. Sarita Meena and Dr. Praveen Bhardwaj). Visit was started from the gate of KUMS, chaksu, one staff member (Mr. Deepak Meena) attend the students, teach that how take gate entry after that he told about open auction. Mr. Deepak asked the students to go in the lab, after that Mr, Ramvilas Yadav address the students and discussed about the e-NAM. What are the benefits of e-NAM and how to sale the produce through online marketing. He addressed the students through given key points:
- Online marketing of agricultural products means marketing agricultural products through online platforms from agribusiness houses to ultimate consumers.
- Agricultural producers are also trying to develop this marketing channel, even though there are many barriers to selling agricultural products through the Internet.
- Farmers may use the Internet to sell agricultural products directly to consumers as well as organizations.
- This marketing concept is highly useful for farmers because the benefits are high and electronic systems are available to serve customers all over the world 24 hours a day. The cost involved is also very low compared to the existing marketing concepts.
- Online marketing of agricultural products has become quite important in the present scenario, as the gap between the farm and non-farm sectors is reducing due to online marketing platforms, and consumers are becoming more aware of the quality of farm produce.
- Thus, skills related to online trading are acquired to understand the complex business processes of the agriculture industry.
