The Alumni Cell of the Department of Agriculture at JaganNath University, Chaksu Jaipur, organized an enlightening lecture on "Modern Agriculture: Scope, Future Planning, Commercial Farming, Gardening, and Organic Products" on February 10, 2024 under supervision of Mr. Tanmay Patnaik(Registrar, JaganNathUniversity, Chaksu Jaipur),Dr. S.L. Sharma(HOD, Department of Agriculture, JaganNathUniversity, Chaksu, Jaipur) and Dr. RenuBagoria(Dean Alumni, JaganNath University, Chaksu Jaipur). The event took place at the Conference Hall, Chaksu Campus, and witnessed a gathering of faculty member and students interested in contemporary agricultural practices.The esteemed speaker for the event was Mr. ApurvMaheshwari, a distinguished alumnus of the Department of Agriculture at JaganNath University. Mr. Maheshwari is renowned as a successful entrepreneur and is the founder & managing director of "AP Farm Developers." His profound expertise and remarkable contributions to the field of agriculture made him an ideal candidate to share insights on modern agricultural practices and the significance of gardening in sustainable agriculture.

The lecture commenced with a warm welcome extended to Mr. ApurvMaheshwariby Dr. Aparna(Coordinator of Alumni Cell, Department of Agriculture), Mr. Praveen Bhardwaj(Member of organizing committee )and attendees followed by brief welcoming remarks from Honorable registrar,Mr. TanmayPatnaik and the head of the Department of Agriculture,Dr. S.L. Sharma. Maheshwari's presentation was comprehensive, covering various aspects of modern agriculture. Throughout the lecture, Mr. Maheshwari delved into the intricacies of future planning in agriculture, highlighting the importance of adopting innovative technologies and practices to enhance productivity while minimizing environmental impact. Furthermore, Mr. Maheshwari underscored the significance of gardening as a sustainable agricultural practice. He emphasized the role of home gardening, community gardening, and urban farming in promoting food self-sufficiency, enhancing nutrition, and fostering community resilience.A significant portion of the lecture was dedicated to organic farming and organic products. Mr. Maheshwari elucidated on the principles of organic agriculture, its benefits for human health and the environment, and the growing demand for organic products in domestic and international markets. He shared success stories and best practices in organic farming, inspiring the audience to explore sustainable and eco-friendly farming methods.
