The Department of Physiotherapy at Jagannath University (JU) organized a two-day "
PHYSIOTHERAPY RESEARCH SYMPOSIUM" on June 3-4, 2024, aimed at bringing together experts, professionals, and students to discuss advancements, share knowledge, and promote research in physiotherapy. The symposium commenced with a grand inaugural ceremony graced by esteemed dignitaries, including the Honorable Vice Chancellor of JU, Pro Vice Chancellor & Dean IQAC, Pro Vice Chancellor & Dean FET, Registrar sir extended a warm welcome to all participants and guests, highlighting the significance of interdisciplinary collaboration in advancing healthcare practices. Registrar sir provided an overview of the symposium's objectives and schedule, expressing gratitude to the invited guests and participants for their enthusiasm and contributions.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Anshu Jain (DMS, Narayana Hospital), delivered an inspiring keynote address on the evolving role of physiotherapy in holistic patient care and the integration of modern techniques with traditional practices. The Guest of Honor, Prof. Dr. Sunita Sharma (Dean, RUHS), shared insights on advancements in physiotherapy education and the need for continuous professional development, encouraging students to pursue excellence in their research endeavors.
The symposium featured expert talks by renowned professionals from various specialties within physiotherapy, providing valuable insights into current trends, challenges, and innovations. Topics covered included advanced treatment methodologies in musculoskeletal and orthopedics, neurorehabilitation techniques in neurology and psychosomatic physiotherapy, advancements in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, physiotherapy practices in obstetrics and gynecology, and pediatric physiotherapy techniques.
Students from Jagannath University, Jaipur National University, and G D Goenka Hospital (Gurgaon) actively participated in the symposium, presenting research papers on diverse topics within physiotherapy. The event concluded with an award ceremony recognizing the best research papers presented by students. The first prize was awarded to a student from Jagannath University for innovative approaches in neurorehabilitation.
Session concluded with valedictory session address from Chief Guest Dr Sachin Ramesh Jain, Orthopedic surgeon and sports specialist, Jeevan Rekha Hospital.
The JU Physiotherapy Research Symposium 2024 was a resounding success, providing a platform for knowledge exchange and fostering a spirit of collaboration among students and professionals.
