Summary

The Department of Physiotherapy, Jagannath University, actively participated in the 3rd International Conference on Advancement in Physiotherapy, organised by the Department of Physiotherapy, UEM Jaipur, on 9th October 2025. The conference focused on the theme “The Role of Physiotherapy and Physical Activity in Healthy Ageing,” addressing the growing importance of physiotherapy in promoting functional independence, quality of life, and well-being among the elderly population.

The event brought together eminent academicians, researchers, and practitioners from across the country and abroad to discuss emerging trends, evidence-based interventions, and innovative research in geriatric physiotherapy. The sessions included keynote addresses, paper presentations, and panel discussions, which provided valuable insights into holistic approaches for managing age related conditions.

The Head of Department, Dr. Aditi Singh, along with faculty members and students from Jagannath University, attended the conference with great enthusiasm. Dr. Aditi Singh, Head of Department, was honoured with the Academic Eminence Award for her leadership, research contributions, and commitment to the advancement of physiotherapy.Dr. Ruchika, Assistant Professor, received the Faculty Excellence Award for her outstanding contributions to physiotherapy education and student mentorship and Aina, a 3rd-year BPT student, received the Star Student Award for her exemplary performance and dedication to academics and co-curricular activities.

The event provided an enriching learning experience for all attendees, bridging the gap between theory and practice and inspiring participants to pursue continuous learning and research in the domain of healthy ageing.
