Celebration of Veer Baal Diwas

Objectives

  • To commemorate Veer Baal Diwas and honor the courage and sacrifice of the Sahibzades of Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
  • To create awareness among students about the significant role of children in nation building.
  • To inculcate values of patriotism, bravery, discipline, and moral responsibility among students.
  • To encourage active student participation in social awareness activities and responsible citizenship.

Summary

The Department of Education, Jagannath University, organized the celebration of Veer Baal Diwas on 26th December, 2025 to honor the bravery and sacrifice of the Sahibzades of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. The programme included a debate on the role of children in nation building, where students actively shared their views on how education, values, and responsible behavior contribute to national development.

In addition, a rally on “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” was conducted within the university campus to create awareness about gender equality and the importance of educating the girl child. Students participated enthusiastically by carrying placards and spreading positive messages related to women empowerment.

Outcomes

The session helped students understand:

  • Students developed a deeper understanding of the significance of Veer Baal Diwas and the sacrifices of the Sahibzadas.
  • Enhanced awareness among students about the vital role of children in nation building.
  • Improved communication, critical thinking, and leadership skills through active participation in the debate.
  • Increased sensitivity towards gender equality and the importance of girls’ education through the rally.
