Jagan Nath University is fully Government Recognized, as it has been established by an Act of Govt. of Rajasthan (Act No 19 of 2008) notified on 16th April 2008.

Under section 2F of UGC act 1956 "University" means a university established or incorporated by or under a central Act, a Provincial Act or a state Act, and includes any such institution as may, in consultation with the university concerned, be recognized by the Commission in accordance with the regulations made in this behalf under this Act.
