POLICIES RELATED TO CONDUCT AND EVALUATION OF EXAMINATION FOR PROFESSIONAL PROGRAMMES LEADING TO ALL BACHELOR'S / MASTER'S DEGREES
FOLLOWING THE SEMESTER SYSTEM
APPLICABILITY
These policies and procedures self apply to all Professional Programmes leading to Bachelor's / Master's Degrees following Semester System (other than B.Arch. Progremme)
DEFINITIONS
- Academic Programme / Programme : Shall mean a programme or a course and / or any other component leading to Bachelor's / Master's Degree.
- An Academic Year : is a period of nearly 12 months devoted to complete requirements as specified in the Scheme of Teaching and related Examinations.
- Semester System : a Programme wherein each Academic Year is a apportioned into two semesters.
- Course : means a component of the academic programme, with specific credits assigned to it.
- External Examiner : shall mean an examiner who is not is the employment of the University.
- Student : shall mean a person admitted to the Schools of the University for any of the academic programmes to which this policy is applicable.
- University : shall mean Jagan Nath University, Jaipur.
- Mid-Term Test : Continuous Assessment Test conducted during the semester.
- End Term Exam. : Final examination held at the end of each semester.
- Every Course shall be based on Semester System. An Academic year shall be apportioned into two Semesters. Each of the two Semesters shall be of working duration of about 21 weeks as per the following breakup

There shall be a break of 2 weeks after every Odd Semester and vacation of approximately 6 weeks after every Even Semester.

STUDENT ENROLLMENT
All Students admitted to Jagannath University have to fill up an
enrollment form at the time of admission.The admission of such student
will be confirmed on the basis of their eligibilty for respective
programme.
EXAMINATION FORMS AND EXAMINATION FEE
Students who have to reappear in an examination for
due paper or
improvement
paper shall have to apply to the Controller of Examinations, in the form
prescribed for the purpose, to reappear in an examination and pay the fees prescribed
by the University i.e,
Rs. 300 per paper.
ATTENDANCE
student shall be eligible to appear in the End-Term Exam., if he/she attended a
minimum of 75% of the total classes held in the Semester.
The Deans of the respective Schools shall send a list of students eligible and not
eligible for the End-Term Examinations. Only those students will be permitted to
appear in the End-Term Theory and Practical Examinations, whose names appear in
the list of eligible students.
The student shall be required to complete the programme in a maximum permissible
period of 2n Semesters, where n- Actual duration of the programme.
EVALUATION SYSTEM
Each theory and practical paper should preferably be of 100 Marks. The credits shall
be assigned to all the papers. The credits per paper should be preferably either
4 or 2. The evaluation for Semester Based Programmes shall be based on Internal
Evaluation and End-Term Examinations.
